Therapist? Life Coach? Holistic Life Coach?

Therapist? Life Coach? Holistic Life Coach?

The nuances between a traditional therapist, life coach, and a holistic life coach are unclear to many people. A life coach is not a therapist, and a life coach differs from a holistic life coach. I’d like to take this opportunity to clarify the distinctions for everyone.

Engaging with a therapist is a longish-term process where a client works with a healthcare professional to diagnose and resolve challenging beliefs, behaviors, and feelings by focusing on past traumas and issues. The goal is to change self-destructive habits, improve relationships, and work through painful feelings and memories to create a happier future.

life coach is a trained but not healthcare professional. They work with clients for varying terms to clarify goals and identify obstacles and problematic behaviors in order to create actions to achieve desired results. The present moment is the starting point for moving forward. Life coaches help people evaluate their lives and take actions to refine them towards their desired goals.

There will, at times, be overlaps between the roles of a traditional therapist and a life coach. However, the right practitioner for a client depends on their needs as outlined above.

holistic life coach uses an integrative approach that considers a client’s mind, body, and spirit. It is believed that fine-tuning each of these areas that impact each other ultimately improves a person’s level of holistic well-being. Every holistic life coach has their own unique philosophy and approach to meeting these objectives.

My approach, Integrative Solutions for Modern Life™, is influenced by the following:

Natural Health Remedies: Lessons from shamans located across the globe taught me how critical it is to detox and balance our physical body. In order to achieve homeostasis, my system taps into natural remedies including nutrition, movement, nature, stress management, and energy work.

Positive Psychology. This scientifically rooted approach to well-being emphasizes self-awareness. It explores a client’s values, strengths, weaknesses, and resilience. Well-being is believed to consist of PERMAPositive emotions, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, and Accomplishment. Research has shown that these five elements are the best approximation of what human beings require in order to thrive.

Eastern Philosophy, Quantum Physics, and Metaphysics. My extensive studies have led me to appreciate the combined value of Eastern philosophy, the scientific study of matter and energy, and other belief systems. Our culture encourages rational, linear logic over inner seeking. I believe that we need to blend the two.

Intuition. I work intuitively. Although we may have an agenda for a session, that plan will be subject to change if I am pulled in a different direction. I confirm my intuitive hunches with Muscle Testing (aka Kinesiology), an assessment tool used to tap into your subconscious mind to access answers about your mental, physical, and emotional well-being. This is where trusting and allowing comes in. 😉

Financial Services Career. My decades-long career as a Managing Director for several premier NYC-based private banks makes me strategic, goal-oriented, skilled at understanding people, and demanding of myself and my clients. You can consider me to be a hybrid of practicality meets spirituality. Living your best life demands both.

The best holistic life coaching approach for you depends on which one lights a spark within you.

My personal note for 2024 and thoughts on quantum living

My personal note for 2024 and thoughts on quantum living

Happy 2024!

I want to thank each of you who made it a priority to work with me to elevate yourself mentally, physically, and emotionally in 2023.

We choose our priorities. They express our values.

Last year, I focused my efforts on our 1:1 coaching sessions, publishing wellness-related articles, hosting roof-top meditations tailored to nature’s cycles, learning how to write a book proposal, speaking at several private events, obtaining the trademark on my coaching system, and being featured on the No Wrong Choices podcast.

My actions demonstrate that I value helping to elevate you. Your commitment to working with me reflects that you value the quality of your life experience.

Our journey on this planet is brief. You want to feel purposeful and happy with where you are at holistically.

The beginning of the year is generally a time for making new plans. As such, it’s the ideal moment to remind you that we are creators.

For a long time, science and spirituality were considered to be in opposition. More recently, through the study of quantum physics and consciousness, physicists have made incredible strides in determining the laws that govern our universe. Science is now verifying what masters have taught throughout the ages: We are connected to everything around us.

One of the fundamental principles of quantum physics is the observer effect. This concept states that there is no such thing as an independent observer who sits on the sidelines watching nature run its course without influencing it. This includes us. We observe everything. Thinking and observing are intertwined. Therefore, our thoughts while observing will affect our reality.

As with light or electricity, our thoughts have energy or frequencies. These frequencies create what we experience. They can empower or deny us the infinite possibilities available to us.

Our frequencies are encoded in our subconscious minds as beliefs. These beliefs are a result of our conditioning — things we have been told or taught, the moments of pride or shame we have felt, the times we were applauded or belittled. Beliefs about ourselves begin to be accepted by our subconscious from early childhood.

Through the observer effect, the power of our subconscious controls our everyday thoughts and actions, and thereby, our life experience.

When we take responsibility for our lives and align our thoughts and focus, this energy will cause us to be the creators of our reality rather than the victims of random events or conditions. Self-empowerment comes when we consciously choose our creations.

My Integrative Solutions for Modern Life™ are designed to help you master your mind, optimize your body, and connect to your soul’s authenticity so you can be empowered to consciously create your life experience and thrive. This is quantum living.

I admire your dedication to elevating your life and look forward to continuing to co-create with you in this new year.

Be The Peace You Want to See

Be The Peace You Want to See

We’ve been witnessing unprecedented violence and tragedy in the Middle East. As a result, hate crimes across the globe have greatly increased.

As a diagnosed Highly Sensitive Person (HSP), I have greater central nervous system sensitivity to physical, emotional, or social stimuli than the average person. This makes me highly intuitive, which helps my work. But it also means that the headline news can sometimes make me cry. A fair number of you are also HSP’s.

Your emotions have frequencies, or vibrations.
Powerlessness, fear, anger, and hate are some of the lowest vibrations you can hold. Your vibration affects your holistic health. You want to keep it high.

Many of you have asked me how you can protect your energy from the turmoil going on around us and cultivate peace within yourselves.

The answer is that you need to be grounded. Here are some tips to help you ground yourselves during this challenging period:

Mindset. The theory of social contagion causes you to be influenced by the behaviors and attitudes that surround you. Beware of this and maintain a positive mindset while intending that the current turmoil will result in the highest outcome for all of humanity.

Mindfulness. Commit to a daily mindfulness practice. Practices such as meditation and yoga build resilience and centeredness, among other things.

Earth. If you are feeling scattered, agitated, or depressed, make it a priority to ground your energy. Lie on or place your bare feet on the ground. Another option is to practice the deep breathing technique that many of you have learned during our work together.

Movement. Walking, exercising, and dancing (the best!) get your endorphins flowing. Everyone feels better and smiles more after they move. Don’t have time? Try shaking it to your favorite tune for 3-minutes. 😉

Hydrate. Give your body the quantity and quality of water it requires in order to function optimally. Generally, approximately 1/2 oz of water for every pound of body weight is recommended. However, every person differs. Age and health issues will affect your optimal hydration level. Consult your physician for guidelines.

Sleep. Get your zzz’s in. Adequate sleep (an average of 7-9 hours per nite) is critical to your holistic (mind-body-spirit) health. If you’re having trouble falling asleep or staying asleep, try Passion Flower capsules by Nature’s Answer before bed or Bach Rescue Remedy Stress Relief Spray during the night.

Radiation. Limit your exposure to Electromagnetic Radiation (EMF) waves. EMF’s influence metabolic processes in the human body and exert various biological effects on cells. These waves emanate from all electrical and, to a greater extent, wireless devices (i.e., Wi-Fi router, cell phone, laptop, TV, etc.). Consider gifting yourself protective EMF blocking cases this holiday season. Your nervous system will feel more grounded as a result.

Environment. Be mindful of your exposure to all forms of media.

If each of us becomes more peaceful within, we can help the theory of social contagion kick-in and put that peace out onto the planet.

Best wishes for a harmonious holiday season.
