My personal note for 2025 and thoughts on choice and detours

My personal note for 2025 and thoughts on choice and detours

Happy 2025!

Thank you for allowing me to support your intention to elevate yourself mentally, physically, and emotionally in 2024. I look forward to hearing about how our work together will manifest for you in this new year.

A family crisis last year caused me to limit my focus to our 1:1 coaching sessions, publishing articles and blogs related to well-being, and editing the manuscript for my book. Because I needed to spend a good part of the year back in my hometown, I had to keep my rooftop events and private talks to a minimum. I appreciated your flexibility with respect to scheduling sessions during this challenging period.

Spending so much time back in my old neighborhood led me to undergo a life review of sorts. I couldn’t help but think about how our choices shape the course of our lives. We make choices, and they propel us forward.

I’m not a revisionist. I don’t wonder what my life would have been like if I had made different decisions because I always choose with my heart. But the experience of making the choice to leave my home to manage this family crisis made it clear to me that my life today could have been very different.

This situation also made me aware that our choices can, at times, be interrupted by life events that cause us to go on a detour. You have most likely seen this play out in your own life — being diverted from your intended direction in order to attend to someone or something else that you value.

Detours can be bumpy. And without the benefit of a GPS, we can feel lost and incur the anxiety of not knowing when the detour will end nor what we will encounter along the way.

Do we resent this at times painful detour or embrace it as an opportunity for growth?

We are conditioned to view detours as wastes of time. Yet, there is beauty in detours because they are part of the human experience. If we look closely, we will find that detours can deliver gifts, many times in the form of connection or personal growth. I was surprised by some of the people who showed up for me on my detour…and those who didn’t. The suffering that I endured led to a deeper connection with my Self as well as others.

Looking back, I can see that each choice and every detour that I have made in my life has left me with a gift that has contributed to my ability to be present for you today.

How about you? Have ever wondered what your life would be like if you had made a different choice? Ever regret any detours that you’ve taken or become stressed or discouraged by them? Have any yet-to-be realized desires for some type of a change? Ever consider that the decisions you make today will impact the remainder of your life?

As you prepare to make 2025 a year of expansion, I’d like to encourage you with the following:

  • Make a decision today. And remember that not making a decision is also a decision.
  • Honor the detour. Know that going on a detour can result in gifts that are not immediately evident.
If your plans have been diverted in the past, there is no time like now to reaffirm your intentions.

Wishing you a happy and healthy new year brimming with fresh starts and the ability to embrace any detours that may come your way.
Your Invisible Power

Your Invisible Power

When you work with me, we delve into intuition and explore its significance as well as practical applications of it in your everyday life. If you haven’t worked with me yet or listened to my radio or podcast interviews on intuition, I’d like to answer a few critical questions about intuition and why I encourage every client to cultivate it.

What is intuition?
Intuition can essentially be described as that “gut” feeling, inner knowing, or instinct that guides you in decision-making or understanding without the need for conscious reasoning. It speaks to you beyond the noise of your thoughts and emotions. Having intuition means being able to tap into this innate ability and trust it.

Why is intuition important?
Modern life has you constantly bombarded with information and distractions that can be overwhelming. Our systems (i.e. political, economic, medical, social, educational, etc.) are in transition. This will require you to make significant choices. How can you know what the best course of action for you is?

Tapping into the invisible power of your intuition is a crucial tool for navigating your life. You need to be able to tell if a thought is coming from your head or if it is a message that requires further attention. This practical skill can enhance every area of your life (i.e. relationships, career, problem-solving, health, well-being, etc.). As with meditation, it requires practice and having some support getting started is helpful.

Why is intuition so powerful?
Intuition allows you to cut through the clutter of your mind in order to connect with your authentic self. This leads you towards a path that resonates with your soul and thereby allows you to thrive. Modern life tends to overlook your soul.

How does intuition work?
Intuition taps into insights beyond rational thought, a dance between the conscious and subconscious minds. It’s a powerful place to be.

Intuitive messages are subtle. You need to learn how to recognize them and give them the consideration they deserve. By quieting the chatter of your mind and tuning into the present moment, you create space for your intuition to bubble up. You become more aware of subtle signals, sensations, and synchronicities. Something catches your attention, often only for an instant, but you notice.

There have been many times that I almost disregarded my intuition because it didn’t make practical sense. Heeding it has led me to my careers, relationships, homes, lifestyle changes, life experiences, and soul spots. Doing so has also spared me from things like accidents, flat tires, typhoons, and choices made out of fear or lack. I’m grateful that I learned how to allow it in.

If you would like to deepen your journey of personal growth and empowerment, please feel free to contact me to schedule a session designed to support you in cultivating your intuition.

You don’t need an external party to tell you what is true for you. The capability to know lies within. 😉
